Wretchedly Difficult Poetry
Tolken: - [Raak] You sir are a hero of the first order!
Tolken: - Although I just noticed that the Knave is "up" instead of "us".

Blob: "Oh Mother, dear" she countered, "You really make a fuss" - [J♥]
Merlyn: "I only bought this case from him, the lining is so plush - J-Diamonds

Tolken: - They all just show up as vertical bars. I mean't what page encoding should I use? Or is it a problem with Opera?
Raak: - [Tolken] Safari and Opera on a Mac both show them properly. I don't see any page encoding option on Opera. Safari tells me it's using "Western (ISO Latin 1)", but changing this makes no difference to what the page looks like. Maybe you're missing a font?
Blob: - [Tolken] Yes looks fine in Opera on a PC too.
PaulWay: - Linux, naturally, shows the symbols perfectly. Like this one:
Raak: - Why is there a symbol for a snowman in a fez?
Projoy: - [Raak] The designers are anticipating climate change.
Tuj: Recap -
Mary had a little lamp that shone as bright as ever A♦
It got its power from fusion cells no bigger than a fly 2♣
But though this new technology was desperately clever A♠
It needed elements that came from distant outer space K♥
She'd got this wondrous gizmo from a passing Martian tourist Q♦
And paid ten plutan dollars for the lamp and wooden case K♣
She firstly thought to use its light to benefit the poorest Q♥
But never thought her purchase would make her a famous face K♦
Of all the things her mama said she'd thought this was the surest Q♠
"Don't have no truck with Martians, they're not for the likes of us J♠
"They're way above our station, even though they swear and cuss" J♣
"Oh Mother, dear" she countered, "You really make a fuss J♥
"I only bought this case from him, the lining is so plush" J♦
Her mother would not listen and got furiouser and furiest Q♣
And made Mary send a signal to the nearest Martian base K♠
The Martian space flotilla which was led by Captain Trevor A♣

So when young Mary's message came over on the comms 3♦

Raak: A virus had invaded all the fire-control flash ROMs - 2♣
Raak: -
Raak: - (That was 3♣, not 2♣.)
It set the sprinklers off in each and every cargo hold 4♣
It made the target radars spin around like spinning things 5♣
It played Waltzing Matilda on the tannoy without stopping 6♣
Blob: So Mary, steadfast, stared ahead - "let's see what this now brings" -  5♦

Blob: - I've tried matt, I've tried !
Merlyn: And all the while she wondered if the Martian men would know 7♠
Blob: That secretly, within her breast, her hopes for life were dropping - - 6♦
[Raak] I think you misread my earlier 4♣ as 4♠ and therefore take it your 4♣ should be 4♠
Raak: -
