Day Job Interference

excuse the weight

excuse the weight

Forgive me, reader. It has been two weeks since I last blogged.

The long and the short of it is that I haven’t written anything in a while because the day job has been unusually all-consuming in its demands on my time.

I am not in the habit of using evenings or weekends for day job tasks, but this last few weeks have required me to do just that several times a week. This is bad on all sorts of levels. I am constantly worn out and so generally not functioning as well as I should be, but in the specific case of my writing it has meant that I have not been able to think about stories at all. Quite apart from the time theft, those parts of my brain just don’t seem to be working at the moment.

The same, you may gather, has applied to my blogging. Having switched to a nominally weekly schedule, I haven’t even been able to keep up with that. I haven’t even done the Beltane goals update.

I’m not not in the habit of complaining about my day job, because it’s a good and interesting place to work. Things are a bit crunched for me at the moment but that will pass.

And I am eager for it to do so. I want to be making words about ninjas, robots, and synaesthesia.

But all I can do right now is hunker down and try to keep the weight from crushing me.

Until the weight is lifted…
